A Tour to the Mesmerising City of Elche from Alicante

The city is famous for its World Heritage Palm Groove where you can see orchards containing thousands of date palms and plants of many other species. The Basilica of Saint Mary is another must-visit heritage site, where the annual lyrical drama or the Mystery Play is organized. Also, if you want to get the most intimate details of this place you can head to the Monographic Museum and Archaeological Site at Alcúdia where the city’s Iberian and Roman artefact is displayed.
You can also visit the Vinalopó River, Vila Murada, the Palace of Altamira, Casa de la Vila and the convent of La Mercé to soak in some history. The Elche city can make up for a refreshing short trip from Alicante as it is located at a distance of about 30 km.
