Alicante is an enchanting port city with a hoard of attractions to offer. A sunny climate, beautiful beaches, delectable cuisine, historical architecture, a bustling port are not the only attractions of Alicante. The Explanada de Espana is the main promenade that runs parallel to the port in Alicante. This is a popular meeting place for locals and tourists alike.
The promenade is made up of 6.5 million marble floor tiles, that create a beautiful wavy pattern. The wavy pattern is made by combining red, blue and white pieces of tiles. It has the distinction of being one of the most beautiful promenades in Spain.
The walkway is fringed by palm trees on both sides. Taking a walk down this cosy walkway is almost a tradition in Alicante. It offers the perfect opportunity for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront and also makes a perfect venue for an outdoor musical concert.
A statue by artist Mark Hersch can be found at the end of the walkway. So plan your holidays in Alicante and indulge in what the Spaniards call the paseo.
